Gunnar Light is an international management executive with over 25 years of hands-on experience working with companies ranging from startups to Fortune 20. Over the past 15 plus years, Mr. Light has worked with small and midsize enterprises (SME’s), expanding their export growth into Asia, Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Africa from a wide variety of industries, including justice, legislative, government, aerospace & defense, telecom, broadcast & entertainment, corporate, education, retail and hospitality.

 

Over his career, Mr. Light has developed sales channels and managed projects in over 100 countries, covering each of the major global regions.

 

Most recently, Mr. Light has held positions as division CEO and President, executive vice president/GM and managing director international for industry leading companies focusing on Rule of Law and Human Rights projects which often required close involvement with NGO's and donor agencies such as USAID, World Bank, UNDP, IBRD, and Asia Development Bank, among others. 

 

Prior, as managing director worldwide sales and marketing for ATCi, Gunnar managed a newly formed international team to exceed 1,600 percent growth in sales in two years, resulting in the company being awarded the prestigious Export Achievement Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce. Continued international success over his 7 year tenure resulted in ATCi being showcased for export excellence in the US President’s Office of Management and Budget Report.

  

In Africa, for example, Gunnar’s team partnered with Huawei Technologies, China’s $40 billion telecom solution provider, to build the first IPTV broadcast network in the region. In Latin America, his international team was awarded a multi-million dollar contract by the Ministry of Education in Mexico for the installation of a satellite broadcast center which was the largest distance learning network in Latin America, reaching over 30,000 schools.

 

In addition to his global management expertise, Mr. Light has also had significant international consulting experience including engagements with IBM, Teléfonos de Mexico, Mitsubishi Electric, Apple Computer, All Nippon Airways, Nissho Iwai and Hitachi.

 

In 2007, he was appointed by the US Secretary of Commerce as a member of the Arizona District Export Council, where he presently serves as Vice-Chair and Chair for the Export Resources Committee.  In this role, his committee provides outreach mentoring and training services to SME's interested in exporting. 

 

Gunnar is a graduate from the Thunderbird School of Global Management with a concentration in Global Trade and Countertrade, as well as from Arizona State University’s MBA program, with a concentration on Supply Chain Management and Marketing.  He is a frequent speaker on international forums and conferences. Originally from Seattle, Washington, Mr. Light has lived and worked as an expatriate in a variety of locations in Asia, Latin America and Europe for a total of 8 years.

 

 

Mr. Germer is a senior global executive with over 30 years of successful business development and sales management experience. He has a proven track record of opening new markets and managing distribution channels in both government markets and commercial markets. Andy's travels have taken him to over 80 countries, with management responsibility within North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America.

 

The majority of Mr. Germer’s career was with Motorola where he held senior sales management positions in the B2B wireless market arena with emphasis on Public Safety and Government markets.

 

As Director of Distribution for the Middle East and Africa, Andy led an 80 person multi-functional, multi-cultural team in achieving sales of $100M plus at a 25% profit margin. As Vice President for Business Development with direct responsibility for Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America, Mr. Germer’s team won multi million dollar contracts for command and control communications systems for government and military customers. He has experience in working with US government export control organizations as well as US export funding organizations such as EXIM bank.

 

As Managing Director, International Business Development, for Space Data Corporation, Mr. Germer introduced Space Data technology to select global markets and established the global partner program for Space Data.For the past 10 years, Mr. Germer has worked with SMEs (Small and Medium sized enterprises) in introducing them to or expanding their participation in the Global Economy with a direct focus on accelerating their global revenues.

 

Andy lived as an expatriate in the United Kingdom for a number of years and most recently resided in Dubai before returning to the US in 2006. His appreciation for and understanding of the many varied global cultures has played a significant role in his business success. He has an extensive network of worldwide contacts he can call on for assistance as required.

 

Andy is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in Business Administration and as well has received a certificate in Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management. He served in the US Army Honor Guard where he received a White House security clearance. He is a volunteer in the mentoring program for the Arizona State University Venture Catalyst program and a 6 year appointed member of the Arizona District Export Council.Mr. Germer is a mentor in the ASU Skysong AZ Furnace program and is also a member of the Arizona Technology Council.
